Senators get together with a SCOTUS judge and both sides put together their cases for the impeachment infront of the judge. Afterwards the Senators will vote for impeachment and need a 2/3rd majority for it to go forward.

I watched a Pelosi interview where she admitted the purpose was to stop Trump from running in 2024. They are scared of him running again and that's just the simple truth. They know he is the best possible candidate to go against them in 4 years and it's a smart move by them honestly.

They have some republicans supporting the impeachment, and who may vote in favor (which wasn't the case last time i think). But I also don't believe it will work.
Personally I think Mike Pence made a really good impression this last week. He had the balls to stand up to Trump, but also had the balls to call out the democrats and stand up to them. He did both in a respectable fashion and tried to keep peace and promote unity.
