Countered by what? Elephant archers? The idea is to make a balance triangle: Elephant Archers counter Paladin, Scorpions counter Elephant Archers and Paladin counter Scorpions (with a little chance of camels being of use aswell). The problem is that in many games i see player not going for any Hero and thats not intended.
Lets also not forget that in Wololo Kingdoms CBA, Battle Elephants are disabled aswell. And South-East Asia civs have access too elephant archers while in WK they have Battle Elephants (therefore Realms Elephant Archers are the Battle Elephants of WK)

Like you said, The scorpions already counter the elephant archers, besides that you can make rams to soak the damages, Also, Theodoric or Onagers can easily brings down Scorpions and Elephants archers. Theodoric is also a counter to Scorpions & Onagers besides Ghenkis Khans, Subotai, Paladins and other fast moving units. There is nothing wrong with the combat triangle currently. Besides that, you already have the Super Ghenkis Khan, which are really efficient in bringing down the Archery Range. Just like I said, It's just that most players spams it assumes that it is the only way to winning the game.

However way they want to play the game is their business and by restricting their choice just because they do not want to unlock any hero, is just nonsense and its takes away the uniqueness of this map.

How about instead of enable archer elephant in castle is make them non elite in imp? same with carracks? Ans right now we have to choose between a range unit with 350 hp, 9 armour and 7+4 att or a horse with 180 hp, 7 armour and 14+4 att.

Maybe at that upgrade from 5th age mod or something.

And since we talking about spawn. When u buy a unit the unit has to walk to the square before it gets spawned. Most of the times i have 2,5 sabs already before turtle finally reaches the spawn point, because it gets stuck because of lagg. Same gos with onagers.

I guess it's up to Zix to decide on whether if there should be some changes.

My opinion is that the current situation is fine as there are many factors that affects the effectiveness of the Elephant Archer Strategy. If you turn on Multi- base, the elephant archer isn't effective as it would be in Single Base. I have seen quite a number of games with players that unlocks hero defeating players that spams elephant archers,even in non-multi base matches.

Personally, I do not think that combat system is broken, in fact, it's just that players are spamming the elephant archers. So, why attempt to fix something that isn't broken?

In a 3v3 Non-Multi Base match with someone using the elephant archer strategy vs someone that unlocks unlocks hero:

Update 2

Another recent match: In this 4v4 Non-Multi base Match, the host was spamming elephant archers without unlocking hero vs p2 with Bombard Cannon and p3 With Theodoric. He was defeated a few minutes after spawning Admiral Ships.

As shown in the matches above, it's clear that the spamming of elephant archers can be countered by players that uses the correct hero and strategy, even in Non-Multi Base match.

Update 3:

Another 4v4 non-multi base match, my team won despite not having raze until later in the game. we unlocked heroes,the host only spammed elephant archers and he was defeated before he could even unlock turtle ships.

Update 1.5.2:

If you delete gate, all walls will be removed
The Tower Of Flies' name will include your required razings too
Example: "Castle: 250, Imperial: 500, Razings: 2"
Cannons spawn with Stand Ground stance instead of Defensive stance
You can delete Petards which you got as hero
Ships rotate instantly
Balance updates

Also, in the next update, is it possible to decrease spawn lag? I got a pet, chose sam, then it took like 10 minutes for it to reach the flag area lol (sorry if I'm repeating what others mentioned..)

Elephant Archers have -30 HP in Realms
You cannot delete your Great Khan
Admirals spawn with Defensive stance again instead of Stand Ground stance

All meele-attack heroes spawn with Aggressive stance instead of Defensive stance
Fixed feed warning message flooding
Fixed bug already created ships did not upgrade

Update 1.5.6:

Hero mode switcher has been removed
Fixed bug spawn system did not work for last player in version 1.0/1.0c/1.4/HD
Conquistadors, Gun Mahouts, Throwing Axemen, Charlemagnes, Haralds and Charles Martels spawn with Stand Ground stance
Unlocked heroes move faster to the spawn area

Thanks, I am planning to add support for 5th Age Mod too, but firts I will add Portuguese Civ Mod III. It has 34 civs, and it also has a 5th (Renaissance) Age.
