Pretty much agree with the super veto... Takes out every teams "comfort map" that is used for an easy win and avoids it... so makes a team have to rely on more maps as well since theres also still normal vetos that can be used.
Tournament still heavily favors a strong CB clan though but atleast things are more evened now and should get better games from this.
No changes to vetoes, the veto system is working fine how it is already.
We voted for maps separately in different categories, if we thought you could veto a map for the whole series we obviously would have picked different maps for the different sections.
Map picks should be given an hour before the tournament starts, then you won't be screwed by your players not turning up for the map you picked.

We had no idea how the veto system would work when we voted for maps, actually.
We could always do a revote of the maps with the teams left.

I don't see a point in revealing maps 48 hours before a set if you don't know who is likely to show up when you want to use certain maps. Clans are well known enough that you can predict roughly what each team will do.

Disagree with revealing maps one hour before, this is a tournament and as such it needs some degree of organization. Maps should only be allowed to be changed super close if both teams agree/in extenuating circumstances.
Personally i agree with rick regarding map picks being sorted in advance to games being played in order to give teams time to practice but also to avoid any potential drama just before games begin. Not to mention some may turn up to play and arent needed when vetos are used and they may have had other plans.
Dont get me wrong i understand the point regarding teams being unsure of who will turn up to play and thus having to change picks as a result. I also take the point that people have a rough idea of what maps will get picked minus civs in certain maps and that most are good enough to play just about all the maps.
With that being said naturally i will go with what the majority want which is clearly map picks on the day of tourney along with keeping vetos as they are, there is diffently pros and cons to both.
With regards expanding the tourney for the semis im gonna be making the 2v2s a bo5 (so it will be 2 home picks each). I had thought about expanding the 3v3/4v4 round but in truth it takes long enough as it is to finish a full set
If I recall correctly, RM tournaments do not reveal their home maps until starting the sets. They use scheduling threads to schedule times to suit both teams. As it stands, RM is the pinnacle of organisation and professionalism when it comes to managing tournaments.
We collectively voted the maps in, we know each other's tastes in map selection and we can foresee well enough what clans will try to go with. Also stops the rot when teams change map selections close to set/during set and opposing clan cries foul over it.
I like the idea of expanding it. We're showcasing finals here, playing the 1v1/2v2 sets one day and the TG the next for two ties isn't the end of the world. The current system is working fine too.
