NPL is infested with smurfs, that's why tournaments in there aren't a good idea

All voobly is infested with smurfs 11 (I understand your idea on smurfing in NPL). We first must agree in "What is a good player in the NPL"

Some of the trial npl mods don't do anything to convince these players to move to other lobbies because in some cases the smurfs are part of their NPL clans.

I've already mentioned this.

Noob Bashing

Due to the number of players in this lounge at one time it is near impossible for Staff to warn every single player without a complaint being filed. We need complaints to keep records of their actions and the actions taken by Staff upon these players. We appreciate every complaint that is filed and we value our players' opinions. To view our Policy on Noob Bashing, please see this page.

We tried this before (warning players at random) and it took a considerable amount of time to first validate the player was a noob basher just to find they came back in after being kicked. We spent an entire day and only managed to get about 10 players. Now imagine doing this for 50+ players. It would literally take a week being in this lounge non-stop, verifying, kicking & banning. They log on with another account then it starts all over again. We are currently working on a way to keep players out of this lounge with only a few steps. It requires Torms attention in order to implement this. I can't stress enough on the importance of filing complaints.

If you want to do a tournament for the NPL, go ahead. It will be an unofficial one though. Unofficial meaning you host it on your own.

Maybe try to get entire clans to move out? I only play in NPL because a lot of other people in my clan play there and I'm sure there are others that feel the same way not only in LOTD, but in other NPL clans such as LYF/Frozen... Just an idea to try and fix the problem.

I've seen many noob bashers not even belonging in clans, I think one of the worst problems are the new accounts being made by current players.
There needs to be a time period between creating new accounts per player like lets say 30 days to try and reduce some of the smurfing.

It looks like the hammer has come down on this tournament ;thumbdown

I agree that npl is a bash lobby..but I believe that judging new players by their rating does not work. Maybe you could check the castle time for each player to figure this out considering there is no feudal war and it is completely walled scenario. I agree this is time consuming but judging players by the no. of games they have won seems ridiculous when random games sometimes produce unfair teams.
A combination of military score and technology score should maybe be a better metric on a game by game basis

+1
im npl and keeeenn if it is gonna be fair
no noob bashing!

You know why I left LOTD?
Because of this.

you guys are SO low that's impossible to play with.
You never want to get better and never play with better guys stayin on npl.
and when u lose there, you say it's noob bashing like everyone else and go complain on mods 11

Let it happen NPL is from 0 -1400 rating ,maybe reduce the range to 1300 or ban players over 1300 from entering NPL for ever lol.

Most noob bashers are not even from MS Siege lobby they are new player lobby players with 1300-1400 rating (that probably don't even play in MS) who like to play against low rated players.
Sometimes we cant even tell who is noob and who is pro with all these new accounts being made.
The accounts with AKA rating we can tell they are good but the ones without is more tricky.
That's why I think this should be a stats based evaluation ,with minmum amount of games played ,no 0 gamers with AKA (they must use their main accounts) ,win /loss ratio should be checked, etc

There needs to be one tournament but with two titles.
The players who win their first games go onto the top section to fight for the NPL champions
The players who lose their first matches go onto the bottom section to fight for for NPL rookies.

well, there has already been said there won't be an official npl tourney so if you want a tourney, do your job and organise one by yourself and your friends.

Here is my input on hosting an unofficial tournament to identify noob bashers. I see many posts here on trying to identify noob bashers without Staff involvement. This is the best I can think of without having Staff involved in checking accounts. We have thought of pretty much every scenario possible for identification. I have come up with some criteria that can be specifically used for your Tournament. These are just suggestions. Take them into consideration if you like, or change them up to how you prefer. I have also taken some of your ideas and added them.

Suggestions for the Beginners RM Ladder only.
  • No players with a win/loss ratio of 2:1 in a specified ladder (minimum of 20 games, e. g. 20 Wins, 3 Losses).
  • No more than 200 games played.
  • Players with an aka rating that has reached, or is close to reaching the rating cap.
  • Age times; Fuedal/Castle/Imperial ( > 16m/22m/36m). Although these can be manipulated (player intentionally takes longer to upgrade Age times).
  • Teams must be split evenly.
  • Zero games played in the MS lounge.
  • Invite only.
  • No rush game; 40" until you can start attacking.
  • Limited number of sign-ups.

If you would like, I can post something in the welcome message for this tournament. If you would like to follow through on this tournament, I suggest you take a look at the other threads made in VCOM and base your tournament on their ideas; rules, start time/date, sign-ups, sign-up closing date, etc.

What are you offering the winners?
