AoE II: DE user patch?

I'm only making this thread because it won't let me comment in the existing thread on this subject. Will there be a user patch for AoE II: DE at some point? Each new update creates more problems than it solves (after the Jan. 21 update, units are now walking through walls as if they aren't there) and I have zero faith in the developers. Imo, our only hope for DE is a user patch.

There will be a beta of the new WK soon. It includes most of the DE features, however without enhanced graphics (else we would be having the same performance issues like DE) and without the new civs (to avoid legal issues with MS). Anything else will be identical to DE.

How about we take all the civs and prepare for a speech, I can provide a transcript.

There should not be any legal issue in the first place, because all civilizations are moddable. If it will work the same way as the Compability Patch or current WK then you need to own those files (bought the game on Steam or XBox) that are used to mod the 1999 version of the game. Such actions are not restricted. A potential problem arises, if MS decides that Voobly as a company that may generate profit off it without such licence. Atleast that is how I have come to understand this topic.
