This is a very sad news to me, and i am pretty sure i am not the only one.
I already cant play AOE 2 DE because i dont have Windows 10 and pretty old PC, that was the only reason that i stayed in Voobly (i mean i didnt have other choice) and now in the near future i wont be able to play here either.
I understand the reason why you are doing it but it will suck so bad for some of us. Wouldnt surprise me if the numbers of players drops even more. Long live AOE
I helped them setup everything and they love how the game is smoother by miles compared to GR but both of them can not join new player lobby in fact they wasted hours of waiting yesterday to find a game on Medieval siege then they got steam rolled by one 13+ player. The previous days they had to play versus bots because they found no game.
My humble suggestion is the following: Do not ban players from joining New player Lobby. Just prevent them from playing ranked/unranked if someone has 1300+ ELO. Plus I'm pretty sure if you look those guys up you'll find that they have no other accounts or AKA rate so I'd suggest to fix this one asap whether it's only a bug related to the latest client or not it's still best not to ban players.
Also you'll be surprised how some newbie players do not know what ELO or ladder means they just want to host a game and have fun.
In the same regard I have a second suggestion to improve voobly experience for new comers. When someone joins any lobby for the first time, Voobly should automatically apply patches not ask the user to confirm or locate anything. Obviously the user installed voobly to play multiplayer so why bother to ask their permission to patch the game or not . Just make it easy for everyone and especially those with zero computer knowledge which are your biggest client potential.
You have already made a huge leap which I applaud you for it but it does not stop here let's keep working on voobly weaknesses and fix them all one by one.
With the Community Patch 1.6 we already started working on a one click installation. We also hope being able to provide a one click game installation in future, without even touching the detected game -- instead a separate game installation will be created. But this will take more time.
Regarding NPL, now with the new client we would be able to do what you suggested above, but also this will take time. In the past we couldn't find a better solution for this, as people kept bypassing our NPL algorithm.
They are both not banned from the New Player Lobby.
I'm 100% positive they were kicked out of New player lobby. I was in a discord call with them and they told me they got "You are not authorized to join". I checked their voobly profile and I saw that they both were online on Custom Scenario and Medieval Siege lobby so obviously without any doubt they can not play on new player lobby.
Anyways I did my part reporting what happened and it's up to you. I will have them take a screenshot.

Perfect! It's understandable but honestly you should not worry about those few countable people that bypass the algo, you can easily deal with them and have them banned several times until they give up. What matters is the majority. and tbh most cheaters are focusing their energy on AoE2 DE right now so you have time to improve the algo over time.
Anyways i'm really glad that you are working on it. It's huge!!
"Wshhhhhh" sound for mili seconds appear and disappear not always ....
I hear it sometimes when I'm in a lobby and when a couple of ppl try to write "14" or "11"

Can you let me know which files you want to see if I do crash?
e. g. you were just coming out of a game, or you just clicked Resume lobby, or you were idle in a game room for hours, or clicked this and that etc.

I've played/spectated about 20 games so far and no crashes.
Ahhh thanks!
