I was playing AOEII fine till maybe last update from Windows, now the typical directplay dll issue is showing up and I'm unable to play any game, it's just like I had directplay under optional windows features disabled even when it's not the case, tried reinstalling voobly and AOE, disabling and enabling the directplay service, restarting the machine, all to no avail. One thing I was unable to do reading other threads is that I can't re-register the dll which shows up with this screen:
(CMD with Adminstrator privileges)
Please help me, I like this game and would hate to go to Game Ranger If there I can play without hassle.

In short, I had to reset windows in order to make it work again.
