Suggested rule.

Players must play and schedule using the account they signed up with.

How strict/lax is this?

Well if the same person keeps coming onto the forums and posting meaningless content, then I would start removing (gloo lol). It's your call.

So only add tournaments that are hosted by vocm?

If someone sets up how it should be formatted I can have a play around with adding info.
atm my reddit threads just look like this -> [You must login to view link]

If it has Voobly's involvement it should be on the calendar. I can set up a simple format if you like and you can just fill in the information from there?

boro_robo wrote:
While creating this should the hierarchy be updated, and anyone who doesnt fall into that list be removed? and clarify what ranks mean?

I'm mostly asking for the RM side as people have asked me about hosting (multiple) tournaments (kigo), and I just sent them onto blake/cavin because I have no idea how these things are supposed to be done.

Following on from this is applications.

Should there be a formal application (similar to Voobly staff application) for people to fill out then captains? discuss it, what tournaments they wish to run, what they bring to the group etc.

We can have a discussion about this (staffing/hierarchy) on another thread if you like. Nhoobish mentioned this as well.

Sign Ups =/= Awards

You should discuss different sign up formats and sometimes being eligible to sign up, etc. ;tongue

Edit. Also updated this page - http://vooblycommittee.voobly.com/pages/view/1350

Just put the tournaments as you put to the reddit thread. Me or whoever can help with the CS side.

I was a Game Advisor, one rank above Voobly Promoter. Feel free to add that back to the main account aswell. ;w00t

I did have different sign-ups on there; One night events, recurring events, etc.. I took it down to simplify it. :( I think boro is willing to help with adding tournaments.

Good luck with getting your advisor rank back ;bleh

Is there anyway to ban people from posting on team forums?

Nope, sorry =/ If gloo keeps trolling/baiting on threads though, I will lol.

If by this you mean the games are played on voobly, then thats 99.95% of all tournaments, so will be quite easy.

Set up the format and I'll start adding stuff :)

Or I can start adding info and someone can rearrange it later if that's easier?

Yes, this is what I mean :)

The important thing is that the information is there. Do you think we should have it similar to the other page? Example: 2016 - RM, CS, etc... 2015 - RM, CS, etc...

I'll start working on the page today.

Whatever you added are sufficient but I think below are the main rules and can be added (Added Lag and Scheduling rules).
Contents:

Rules & regulations

Dropping Rules

  • If a player disconnects, the game will be resumed.
  • If the game cannot be resumed we will try to view the recorded game. If one player/team was going to win without any doubt they will be awarded the win. If there was no obvious winner then the game will be replayed with the exact same settings.
  • If the same player constantly disconnects, they/their team will forfeit and the other player/team will progress to the next round. The exception to this rule is if the tournament has not progressed past the first round. A replacement can then be added to the offending team.
  • If a player is causing unplayable lag and can clearly be proven as the sole cause of the lag then that player may be disqualified.

    Pausing rules

  • Each team/player can pause once in game for a total of 5 minutes. Other players are not allowed to unpause until they are sure that that everyone has returned. Any player who has paused for longer than this period, without the permission of the other player/team, will be asked to unpause or an admin win will be granted to the other player/team.
  • Players who repeatedly unpause before the 5 minutes is up will cause an admin win to be granted to the other player/team.
  • A pause will be allowed to exceed 5 minutes if the player if communicating with a tournament organizer.

    Lag Rules

  • All the Games Must be played under 400 pings for 1v1 and under 500 Pings for TG.
  • In case there is lag / high ping Games Can be replayed.
  • Evidences required for replay is a screenshot of ping screen (In game) and Screenshot of in game showing yellow dot.
  • It is rather advised not to start / get ready for any game until you see the ping fixed. In case it do not get fixed take a SS and return to VCOM officials.

    Scheduling rules

  • All Players must be active on scheduling forums.
  • All players must schedule only in forums. Personal Talks / Inbox messages will not be entertained.
  • The Team having less efforts to play will be disqualified from tournament after the deadlkines.

    VCOM Hosting Rules

  • Any rule may be changed by the tournament organizers on or before the night.
  • All rulings by the official VCOM tournament organizer are final.

Also regarding the prizes there is a doubt over it.
Like 32+ sign ups in 1v1 event :: 3 players will be awarded
32+ in 4v4 event :: 12 players will be awarded rofl

May be I advice to make two tiers for 1v1 and 2v2 (32+Premium)
And for 3v3 and 4v4 (48+ Premiums)

I'll start working on the page today.

I was mainly thinking of it being a current calendar, showing what tournaments are happening right now, have just completed or are about to start, not a long term calendar showing every tournament that has happened. although I guess it would be quite easy to archive (copy the info for each tourney) onto another long term one.

At least for the RM side, someone else needs to add cs things, or PM me with the important details

This is not for in-tournament set specific rules. We already have a page for that.

  • 32+ Players (FFA & 1v1 Only) - All winners will receive Silver premium memberships: (1st) 9 months, (2nd) 7 months, (3rd) 6 months
  • 32+ Players (Team Game - 2v2+) - All winners will receive Silver premium memberships: (1st) 3 months, (2nd) 2 months, (3rd) 1 months (This is why the premium award is so low)

Regardless we should still have one. And I would use it lol It also gives a quick link for questions we have regarding upcoming tournaments and previous tournaments held.

I can help with updating CS. I think the main thing we're missing is from RM (having tournaments posted here I mean).

Let me start by saying NO to the rules about lag not now not ever. Cant be enforced and the recent mess shows it.

I also think too many tourneys are being hosted and are devaluing tourneys, please slow it down and give others a chance to host a tourney. There are tourneys being posted up before others have finished. This is has happened before and i can see it happening again. 4 tourneys a year per host is plenty especially scheduled ones. Shouldnt be more than 1 tourney in a month as well.

Not sure this is still being done but it needs to be done and that is tourneys being posted on captain only forum in advance of it being made public. That will give those with a bit more experience a chance to proof read it and to also advise whens a good time to host it.

I agree with everything mich posted, though id like to add im still waiting on my song.

I see no harm in making some captains promoters but i think its more a case of doing it for those who have been in vcom and captains for a certain length of time

I agree about the no-lag rule. It can easily be misinterpreted like it just has been. Also, it would be a good idea to not start hosting another tournament until the other one is completely finished (awards/premiums added). One tournament per host at a time is enough. Posting tournaments for Captains (in the Team forum) before they are made public is also a good idea.

Good points Frankie.

And I agree with that not all team captains should be promotors except if there is a reason for it(streaming, organizsing, advertising on FB, Twitter etc. and not only hosting tournements. (not that I deserve it atm)

I think we should use the game advisors for our benefit. I dont know what they do so far. We could use them to help organize/seed. If we host like a tournement like the 1vs1 CBA Hero tournement and 2 game advisors tell us the ups and downs, that would really benefit. Most game advisors atm just have free premium and dont add anything to cs.

I know this has nothign to do with VCOM but its just an idea.

I agree. Game Advisors

Most listed are for RM/Other. Currently, it seems we only have 2 Advisors for CS.
