I go to launch the game outside of Voobly or on another service and it pops up with a patch selector. I select for example 1.0C and press continue and then the screen goes black. The black scree remains black for a long time, i don't have much patience and I shut the process down via task manager.

I tested yesterday on Voobly and everything worked well once, I went to play today and it is doing the same thing on Voobly too.

(1) » Download « Offline Userpatch 1.4 from there and install it.

How to install:

1. Ensure that Age of Empires II: The Conquerors Expansion is not running.
2. Extract "SetupAoC.exe" into your "[You must login to view link]" directory folder.
3. Run "SetupAoC.exe" (admin privileges may be required).
4. Select the feature [You must login to view link] to install.
5. Hold the Ctrl+Alt keys and click "Install".

No not at all. it is 100% safe and secure file but probably your Antivirus program treat as Virus content - since that is on .exe format... anyway never mind. download the patch from it's original website: [You must login to view link] and install it.


• FYI - sometimes this "Black screen & Not responding" issues can also happen when your Firewall try to prevent running the program. so follow this article: #KB1035 and add exclusion program file list for your game and Voobly.
