Your version of the game is not compatible with Voobly.
You must install the most recent 1.0c compatibility pack for Age2HD
Now before any of you say just download the pack and it will fix it, I already did that and it didnt help. Also Ive tried to change the game directory so it goes to my AoC instead of the HD version but I cannot find it. I have already tried some other out there methods to solve it but they havent worked either.
Image 1 is the error
Image 2 is my age2 folder
Image 3 is where the AoC.exe is located and what Voobly needs to access instead of age2hd
*Also I am in Windows 10 if that has any effect on the Voobly client
i dont have the steam version so from what youve written i assume you had the game originally, working and then installed the steam version. all file dates are 2016 so it either overwrites data or makes another install.

did you do a file search for all the instances of age2x1.exe?
I have the Steam version of the game, I have Windows 10 and I've already instelled the most recent 1.0c compatibility pack but the game doesn't start

does the game run ok off of voobly?

for windows run the game etc as admin and xpsp3 as compatibility.

Hi, thanks for your answer.
I've uninstalled the game and then followed all the instructions from your link but it didn't work.
So I decided to change the installation folder's position from the second hd to the primary hd and.. It worked!! LoL Now the game works fine, both using Voobly and Steam
