Settings

• Map: =V= CBA Beta v1
• Civilizations: Team Random
• Speed: Fast
• Starting Age: Standard

  NB! It is your duty to make sure the Game Settings are correct!

All rounds will be Bo3, expect for the Finals and Bronze Match, which both will be Bo5.

Rules

• If a player disconnects, the game will be resumed.
• If the game cannot be resumed we will try to view the recorded game. If one team was going to win without any doubt they will be awarded the win. If there was no obvious winner then the game will be replayed with the same civilisations and spots.
• If the same player constantly disconnects, their team will forfeit and the other team will progress to the next round unless a replacement can be found. The replacement cannot have played for another team.

Deleting a building or partially built building is only allowed in the following circumstances:

• It is inside your or your allies base, it has more than 25% health and there are no enemy units within range to hit it.
• It is in the main map but it is not on the frontline of buildings, it has more than 50% health and there are no enemy units near it.
• You or your team have a significant number of units fighting in front of the building, it is blocking the way and highly unlikely to be destroyed.

Camping is defined as a player playing ultra defensively in order to gain an unfair advantage. If a player stays at their gates and does not come out to attack that is clear camping. First offence means the game must be replayed. The second offence results in disqualification.

• Every team has the right to take a 10-15 minute break between each round if they want to, however not between the individual matches of the Semi-Finals, Bronze Match and Finals.
• If a team wants to take a break that exceeds these 15 minutes, either the other team has to agree or it has to be an emergency.

• Discrimination in any form is not tolerated. A violation of this rule can result in disqualification for future events. Keep in mind that there are official rules related to this concern.
• Simple trash talk is allowed since it has always been part of competitive activities such as sports or games. Keeping it to a minimum would be nice though.

Any and all rules may be changed by the tournament organisers on or before the night. All rulings by the official VCOM tournament organisers are final.

Reasons:
Sunday, because some people may work on Saturday.
2v2, because 1v1 is not liked by casual players and 3v3 and 4v4 tournaments require more people to be successful.
Team Random, for an element of fairness, though casual players prefer Random, but I think it is time to start educating them and make them not rely on luck.
7 PM, because it should be the best time for European and American players, thus being available for most players.

Everything above is debatable of course, this is just how I see it.

This is a CBA beta version which koolsavas made. Thread was made by nhoobish so post your thoughts on the format

Looks good, two questions though:

1) Since the hosts seem to be Dave/Barry/noobish, does that mean I dont have to host it and can play in it?
2) The file I uploaded and linked to in the thread is still called CBA v19. Want me to remove that file link or rename the file?

//edit: you might also want to add a rule that they can gb and fix colors in case the positions are unfair such as mong p1/p4 and teut p2/p3.

You need to contact nhoobish to see if he can host it which I doubt. From what I know Dave won't make it for sure

I'm gonna post this on the main forums when I get home tonight. Sorry it's been so delayed, I've had a ton of work to do this week and haven't had anytime.

The only setting I would change in this would be random civs instead of team random. If we go team random and the spots aren't fair then there is a ton of time wasted going back and rehosting or people complaining.

Quick thoughts please.

Also I want some of you ready to help me share this on player/clan walls. I'll be posting it in the CS lobby every so often as well. Lets get the word out as much as we can.
