Ok guys this is a tournament thread. The reason why the tournament is at this time is because universally its the best time for most players, most tournaments will be at this time. That is not to say there wont be tournaments to suit other time zones because there will be. I will admit there hasnt been many tournaments of late mostly because Christmas/new year and january is usually a slow month anyway. This is just the start of other tournaments that will be done throughout the year. The way some are moaning here you would think this is a paying job and not someone giving up their own free time to give something to the community.

Is the CS community in favor of streaming this event?

No one stops anyone from streaming these matches, but the players who are interested will likely take part in the tournament than watch stream or spectate. If you want to stream, then go for it.

RM, and now DM, are widely supported by the Official Voobly streams and various tournaments. CS is being offered the same support, but if the CS community wants to popularize itself, they will have to be more in view of the rest of the AoC community. Dave, and others, did a great job casting the war between Xcel and Eot_, but RM casters aren't well suited to casting CS games. If CS can provide co casters/analysts, I'm sure Voobly can provide a quality streamer from their pool. However, having committed CS streamers would help even more.

I used to stream. Could pull over 50 viewers playing Europe or Rm. Couldn't get more than 20 hosting any other form of CS. I don't see the drive for CS streamers, CS is boring as bat **** when viewing games. Only thing that makes them worth watching is a funny caster - but CS oozes a lack of personality besides the hordes of keyboard warriors who are mutes on mic.

I agree with you Emarosa, but part of the gap between CS and RM is that so few people understand what is going on, and few people really enjoy watching something they don't understand. It might never become the most popular style AoC stream, but CS streams can still offer something for both RM and CS if done properly. The trouble is finding those personalities to make it interesting when the gameplay becomes rather stale.

J0SH you did a really good job for streaming the last CS war because the maps and gameplay are total alien to you, im sure lots would watch again yeah if its competitive, maybe the more earlier matches may not get as much attention unless there are some tasty really compettves ones early on.
