I prefer to play the game by starting in the single player menu and going on from there to the random map (mainly because with the multiplayer part introduces a 1 sec lag), but unfortunately I can't change the population that way and I have to play at 50 pop which is quite awful. I like using this mod because my resolution is 2560x1440 and the game plays so much better with it but without more pop it's unplayable. Anything I can do?

I believe you can start a multiplayer game, with 200 pop, with just yourself and other computers, exactly as you would in a random map game
