For the 2v2 Clans Tournament structure to be consistently successful, it'll need to involve some maps from the CB genre and a few mainstream blood maps/other maps. So this topic will take light off that aspect for now.

Efkan (Hun/Suliemann) has suggested a tournament idea which has a lot of good pointers, however I can't see it being easily organised and getting the needed numbers. People chipped in with ideas in the same topic and eventually a "community play-date" idea was proposed. So basically, it's a time/day each week where the VCOM lobby could be host to scheduled good old fashioned bloods.

Now why I consider this to be a successful approach is because;

• We don't need to run this as a tournament. In fact, VCOM moderators don't even need to be present.
• It will attract a lot of the older players we've lost to the infinite waves of CB/Alternate maps which killed off their variety of CS gaming, forcing them to either adapt or move on (a lot moved on unfortunately). It'll be nice to get old names playing again, even if it's once every few weeks on these play-dates.
• It'll be a random generated teams structure. We won't worry about a clan vs clan scenario, and players will be playing for fun like the maps were designed, just like Zone times.
• It's a great way to integrate the lesser skilled players slowly into other maps without them feeling pressured by rude players and the the daunting rating system associated with the maps.
  
  All I ask is if we could promote it on the website somewhere permanantly is easy view, at least for the first few weeks so people see it. I can get a banner made by somebody that's suitable for advertisement, and I understand it isn't an easy thing to do, but it'll be a step in the right direction in maturing the community base as promoting map variety. We could possibly even use this as a way of promoting new maps upcoming in tournaments/new features or whatever.

I'm all for helping with this in any way I can. I'd say don't hold your breath about the banner, we have to find alternative means to advertise this.

I can get ViCiouS to show up, Eot_ will show up, and then some all sorts like Hun/Damian/Andreas etc.

The reason I want a some form of advertisement on the site is to attract old players who may venture past Voobly, maybe even install it only to see games they may not want to play. If they see a "bloods play-date" scenario, they'll make an effort to attend it, or at least inquire.

giving this another bump because we need to get more involved to get this rolling. this is the best idea yet and im sure it would encourage alot of old players to play again. im ready to help in anyway possible...
