I've been thinking about this for a while and how it would work or if it could work and I just decided to post it up and see what others think.
Blood League A
Ten of the best blood 1v1 players play each other in a selection of maps that have been predetermined. The first round of matches would be one map and they would have a few weeks to play everyone. I don't know how many maps/rounds would be reasonable.
The bottom two in the league will drop down to the second level.
Blood League B, C etc..
The next ten play the exact same maps. The two players are promoted to the level above.
Rules
Penalties would be given for missing games if the other player can prove he tried to organise it.
Cheap tactics would also be frowned on and points deducted for it.
Prizes:
150 blood points, medal and gold membership for League A Winner.
100 blood points, medal and silver membership for League A Runner Up.
100 blood points and promotion for League B Winner.
50 blood points and promotion for League B Runner Up.
Problems I can already see:
Deciding the initial starting places of players is the obvious first problem. The obvious solution is for me to poll the most respected blood players, those who won't respond based on personal feelings.
Please remember this is a very rough idea right now.
If I remember rightly we had something like this before and it worked well, before my time in IGZ.
Sounds like a good idea, but you need to make it so you have to play a range of blood maps, or you will get people like brian just playing 1v1 smosh !!!

I'm going to rank people based on skill over a broad range of bloods. One/two mappers are not going to be tier one.

Instead of hosting 'friendly' events when VCOM is not running a tournament you could host Blood League *or w/e league you wanted* qualifiers. This would allow you to see which players are interested in taking the league seriously and would also allow you to develop some sort of system for rating which players belong in the A B or C groups.

Can throw Metal on there, Ducky if he wants to play as well could match top tier i think. Hoodlum as well if he comes back, Ben as well. Damian did not add himself, and Andreas also Marauder
(tier B and lower)
add in players like naz, Myself, Drew, Masta, Volcom,DZ_Light, Dark, Virus, Chopin, Sean, Veni, Tr4, blablabla to a lower tier.? Would definitely be fun.
No some of these players are NOT in the top 5-10 in there maps. But I can at least play ANY blood 1v1. I have the map knowledge just not the skill in most. As can most of these players i listed if they tried.

Just add one more player to that list and you have the A league. That is if they all agree to play in it.

I don't think I need to say that having a public poll would be a bad idea

idk the others might under smurfs but.. i think a good is a good idea but there are going to be problems ranking people into tiers.
