He has a Pirated copy of Age of Mythology and we wanted to play together, but after he did all of the updates, it says it has a problem, so he compared his files with my old copy's files and they looked same. What could be the problem? (A tip said that files might be missing in a Pirated copy, but idk.)

Could this explain anything? (He said a forum post said to post his voobly txt. file summary and it might help)

What you should do if you live near each other is simply copy your actual game files onto a USB and give them to your friend. Here is a video which tells you how to do so.

a few ideas you can try:
-bolt's video above
-both reinstall voobly and/or aom.
-find a different copy of aom for your friend to use.

uninstall the client. del the folder from programs. del all cookies and temp files.
reboot the pc.

do the cleaner and registry clean ups. d/load the client. re-install. try
