Is there anyone with the expertise to know whether it's possible to make a game mod for hotkeys where you can cycle through a number of say different buildings for a single hotkey.

For example you press B, then Q, for a palisade, then Q again for a stone gate, kind of like you can change the gate orientation with the scroll wheel. Is this actually possible?

At the moment something similar to what it describes does not exist, or at least I do not know.
