Age of Empires II: The Conquerors (the one most people play)

Please help. I need to change the game sound "Signal Allies".
I have tried changing 50317 and 50327 but that doesn't work here.

You will need to modify the drs file in your 'Data' folder of your game directory. Although I am not sure of the exact name for the one you are looking for.

Furthermore, you will need to set this up as a data mod so other players can download and use it too (i.e. if you wish to use it for games played on Voobly) to avoid out of sync error messages later.

What application are you using to read the drs file?

I have the "Advanced Genie Editor 2020.3.30"
I will poke around in there.

What application should I be using to read the DRS file?
Whatever DRS file that is.
I think maybe that sound isn't editable.
