AOM - VOOBLY (2 posts)
Been playing without problems untill today when i deleted some rundll32 stuff(the good one is safe, i followed a tutorial). After this I tried joining 2 games and the game would just not start, went to game folder and tried to run age2_x1.exe and it did nothing. After 1h of google search i found a fix by renaming age2_x1.exe to LITERALLY anything else, even age2_x2.exe works.
Now the issue is that when i start the game via voobly it creates an exe with the name "age2_x1.exe" and tries to run that one, which won't start because of the name.
Short story= if i rename exe it works, but voobly wants that exact name, so... ideas please?
Thanks!
This worked for me:

If you don't trust running this bat, what you need to do is to rename the file "gameux.dll" in "windows\syswow64\" or "windows\system32\". In order to do so, you need to:
1) Start a cmd shell as administrator
2) cd to the corresponding folder (syswow64 or system32)
3) Get ownership of this file by typing "takeown /f gameux.dll"
4) Get permissions to change the file by typing "cacls gameux.dll /E /P %username%:F"
5) Rename the file by typing "ren gameux.dll gameux_dll_bak"
6) Close the shell by typing "exit"
Remark: All commands have to be typed in of course without apostrophes "".
Hope this helps
