I used AoE2Tools to set up thorugh Voobly on Win 10 a while back. Gameplay works fine, not issues in fact. But, I cannot watch recorded games.

I go into game settings and watch recording and for each recorded .mgz file the game details says "Unsupported recording file version." I cannot find any information about this in the support threads, forums, faqs. What am I missing?

Note that this message always appears if the game was played with the new Userpatch 1.5. Unfortunately, the Voobly client itself is not updated to read infos from these recordings (normally that window would show player names and such). However, the game itself can still play the recording just fine. Try starting the rec despite that message.
