There are two ways how this could be hosted:

• One Night Live Event on a weekend (possible dates: in December: 26th, 27th; in January: 2nd, 3rd)
• Scheduled Tournament (I want to see more of CS actually play in scheduled tournaments, one night live events do not show truly show who is the current best in something, because due to dates and times many players are unable to show up)

i think a 4v4 tournament is better than a 2v2 tournament, since 2v2 is identical to 1v1 in strategy

you mean scheduling like the way TIW was done? and over how long would you make the tournament through 'scheduling' ?

Depends on how many rounds are there going to be, the more rounds the longer the period is.

2v2 does favour the same 1v1 players, same skills required slightly diff strats...

Maybe vcom could announce several of these tournaments all at once and people do scheduling on a thread for the tournament through there... but the format worked really well for TIW atleast.

well for me 1+ for one live event,if it schedule tourney it will never end,believe me

maybe a good idea but something else maybe, balanced civs could be a good idea? like the recent cba tournament, for example 2v2 with japs maya vs teut turk (ps i can think of many and help out with civ combos if you'd like )
