Can not launch a game

Does anybody have a solution to this problem: When I am trying to launch an AoC game, it will not work and it says

"An error was detected while the game started to initialize. Please try again. If the game is still open please close it.

Make sure you have installed the latest updates for the game (you can check your version by launching with the anti-cheat off).

If the problem persists try launching with the anti-cheat disabled.

Do you want to run game diagnostics tool now to check for game installation problems? Running the diagnostics tool is strongly recommended!"

Then the diagnostics tool says everything is fine and this:

Everything looks fine. DirectPlay is configured and the game was found on your harddrive. If you still have problems try rejoining the lobby or restarting your computer.

The game is not running while I get this error message. And I have installed my AoC from an old installation cd, so I think I really can not update it. And what is that anti-cheat thing, and how can I access it? If anyone can offer any help, it would be really appreciated! Thanks!

Does your game work properly when you launch it from the .exe?

Have you checked antivirus is not blocking Voobly?

Please reinstall the latest patch. You will first need to uninstall any current patch you have and install the latest one. You can find it at the Voobly Mod section.
