What is the Casual Lobby?

The Casual Lobby is an unrated Lobby for promoting Custom Made Maps, new Maps and Game Modifications. New players (noobs) have a starting point without the pressures of regular ratings and they can play with their friends at different levels. Have a friend that is new, but you have three friends that can't join the New Players Lobby because of their activity in the rated lobbies? The Casual Lobby is a more relaxed environment that is open for ALL players and for all different types of maps.

The Match Stats Ladder (Casual) shows statistics and recordings only. Wins, losses and points (1600 rating) are not reflected on players on this Ladder: (example).

Custom Maps

Custom made maps, better known as Custom Scenarios, are maps created by players. Custom Scenario are played differently than a random map or deathmatch game. In most Custom Scenario Maps you can get your food by kills, or use it to upgrade units, buy orthings in map stores. Don't have enough food for a villager ... just raze (destroy) an enemy building. There are many other different types of "CS' games and how they are played.

Custom Videos

Custom Map Downloads

You can download the Casual Lobby Map Pack or the
Custom Scenario Map Pack. All scenarios listed reflect the current ladders that rate in the Custom Scenario Lobby. You can download the full packs, or you can click on each map to download individually.

Game Modifications

Enhance your gaming experience by downloading and using Visual/Content or GamePlay/Data 'Mods' in your game room settings.

Questions?

  • Are there ratings in the Casual Lobby? No, but you can play on the Match Statistics Ladder (Casual). The Match Stats Ladder page lists recordings (if the match was recorded) and statistics from the matches you have played.
  • Need the game? Buy the HD version [You must login to view link]. After purchasing, do a clean installation of the game. Follow the directions exactly on that page. If you are having technical difficulty, please visit the Tech Support Forums.
  • Fast proxy and disconnection issues? You can view the help topic page [You must login to view link]. If you are still having problems, request the assistance of a Technical Support Moderator by clicking 'Live Help' on the top right corner of any Voobly Game Lobby, or you can post on the Tech Support Forums.

Compre la version HD [You must login to view link].
You must login to view link]. Si todavia tiene problemas, solicite la asistencia de un moderador de soporte tecnico haciendo clic en "Ayuda en vivo" en la esquina superior derecha de cualquier Voobly Game Lobby, o puede publicar en Foros de soporte tecnico.

Can have rated game mode types? Like Normal, Prey Hunt, Campaign, RPG, Tower Defense or simply Mod/Custom Scenario. I'm talking about having standard modes. Would be fun if i could be like one of 'The best Tower Defense players' by my rating points. It's a motivation to enter the Arcade Lobby and play. Its just imagine how can made championships from the mods/scenarios, can be a 'Prey vs Hunt Championship' and for this, both the mods and maps need adjustments.

And the better is the part of creation, will be very interesting to make scenarios for something like 'Arcade RPG' (Like a mod of the approved rpg scenarios for arcade lobby - with the rated mode called RPG) or make scenarios for 'Vampire Revenge' (If the custom scenario approved for mod Vampire Revenge, he is included on the mod and can be played on Prey/Hunter mode), or to make mods for 'Prey/Hunter' and send for the approvation.

* Ideas and Details
# Rated Types
Prey vs Hunter (Approved Mods like Vampire Revenge or Sheep vs Wolf)
Civillizations (Approved Mods with Custom Civs like Realms)
RPG (Approved RPG Mods with their Scenarios)
Battle Arena (Approved Battle Arena Mods/Scenarios of the Community like CBA Mod)
Tower Defense (Approved Tower Defense Mods with their Scenarios)
And etc..

# Mods
Vampire Revenge
> Included on Prey vs Hunter rateds.
Realms
> Included on Civillizations rateds.
CBA Mod
> Included on Battle Arena rateds.

# Mods for Approved Scenarios without Mod
Arcade Battle Arena Scenarios (Approved Scenarios like CBA PathBlood)
> Included on Battle Arena rateds.
Arcade RPG Scenarios (Approved RPG Scenarios of the Community)
> Included on RPG rateds.
Arcade Tower Defense (Approved Tower Defense Scenarios)
> Included on Tower Defense rateds.

# Custom Scenarios for Mods (Like Fan Creation)
The part of custom scenarios for especifics mods need to have a type of review of scenarios (per example the mod owner can make the reviews) approvation just for the mod. Where a map for an mod cannot be played without the mod.

To be honest people seem to use it to play with friends only, so it's not like you'd have a community there. 80% of the games are password protected, rest kicks you when you join.

+1

even though all the lobbies are filling lately with everyone being home (not just casual lobby), it's strange, they're all filled with silent people who sit in locked room and play very weird games (try looking at match stats). Lobby of 600+ and nobody talking at all, it's so strange lol

Even aok has been getting 200+ users a day :S

1) A lobby from 50 players to over 1000 in about a few weeks and that is what you take from it? So negative. What you think, the lobby is full of player bots now? 👍😂 Host and engage with those players so they learn. There is strength in information.

2) A lot of these players are probably very new to the game and just want to play with their friends. I bet this game is brand new to a lot of these people and also playing online.

3) I advertise and host games so players can know what other maps are out there. I also teach them how to play and answer questions that they may have. Sure they’re quiet right now. Engage with them and try to get them to learn new things. The response that we have been getting is positive. It just takes patience and time. Sure they are quiet right now, but if you engage with them and try to get them to learn new things the response that we have been getting is positive. It just takes patience and time.

4) Who cares what maps they are playing as long as they are playing and learning. Geez you guys 😂

5) Less complaining, more helping? 😘

Not one part of that was complaining, it was an observation that multiple lobbies are noticing the same influx not just the casual lobby - and the same behavior is observed in all these lobbies. The behavior in the lobbies is strange (aok lobby is the same), at no point did anyone say it's necessarily negative or complain, we are simply trying to work out what's going on. You have a lobby of 600+ people playing in locked rooms, thats silent (even if you try to speak to them in main lobby.. silence), it qualifies as a little strange especially when its happening in multiple lobbies, and commenting on that isn't being 'negative', so get your head out your ass. Understanding the behavior makes it easier to engage with the users, and thus if you weren't so sensitive it could potentially be constructive.

Hello jNk, Perhaps all these players playing on lock rooms are just here playing with their friends after all it's a casual lobby and ever since the virus and lockdowns we have received many NEW players and old players. Some players are just here to play with friends, others are playing there because banned from NPL so word Casual catches their attention. Some go there to load in single player menu or watch recordings. Feel free to host your own game room without a password and get a game this way if you decide to play in Casual Lobby!

It's defiantly a lobby with many locked rooms indeed it's not like the other lobbies however they are humans lol!

Cheers!

Mich, what is the probability that players who enter in Casual lobby will be redirected to the Custom scenario lobby?

Since Npl, happened to be named RM

Maybe casual lobby can be named CS- Casual Lobby

Hello Apocalyptic_

The Casual Lobby is meant for any game type or any setting. It's main purpose is to just play for fun with no worry around ratings or toxic atmosphere.

If it were to be named CS Casual Lobby that would defeat the purpose of it being used for RM/DM or any other game modes. Of course CS can be played there but if you CS players want CS to grow you need to help by showing them the maps and telling them how to play them.

From what I've noticed in the lobby is it's mostly groups of friends playing for fun, Feel free to message them and tell them about CS and show them the maps that would help bring new player interest to CS.

Edit: I believe NPL was named RM NPL because there was to little amount of players playing DM or CS and 98% of the games were RM.

I would still not rule out the possibility of bots.

It will be the level of interaction that basically will determine who or what they eventually are.
