Let's keep it very simple:

CS becomes "great again" when players go back to practicing variety instead of playing CBA/CBA Hero 24/7.

START PLAYING DIFFERENT SCENARIOS!!!

CS becomes "great again" when players go back to practicing variety instead of playing CBA/CBA Hero 24/7.

START PLAYING DIFFERENT SCENARIOS!!!

CS becomes great for you and your colleagues if that happens. It doesn't become great for the rest. CS needs more than variety. We already have hundreds of available scenarios that anyone can play if they want. The majority of CSers don't play them not because they are bad scenarios, but because CBA and Hero are enough to satisfy their gaming demands. Perhaps if these other scenarios (the actual good ones) were promoted more effectively, maybe you can start to introduce variety again. For example, instead of launching a new ladder and adding like 5 or 10 new maps to it, why don't you focus on promoting one new scenario at a time? Instead of having people spread playing several new scenarios, why not have all people learning the same one at the same time? Once that new scenario is mainstream, you can introduce a new one.

Personally, I don't think the people managing CS are doing a great job. I appreciate that they are willing to spend their fair time to help the community (although definitely some of them have ulterior motives), but we need new people at the top. I don't feel like there is ever any meaningful change. It's the same strategy being applied, and it's insane.

Before you ask why I don't or can't contribute, I'm simply too busy. And I'm not really actively complaining about the situation in CS, I'm just giving my opinion whenever I'm provided a platform to do so (i.e this and a few other recent threads).

Well I agree there was a need for a fresh perspective at the top of CS and as malte knows I tried really hard to make it a reality. Lets just say that the the problems aren't at Michies level. Mich only stepped in to this position as a last resort because she cared.

We haven't had a CS management since Dave left. Mich hasn't been able to fulfill the role due to personal reasons so basically we were left in limbo. Now we have somebody at the top, changes were made and judging them now is pointless. I thought random was never going to do any good yet it worked for a long time. Wait and see.

As for ideas, why aren't any of the people complaining saying what they would do as opposed to 'death to old staff'. One more point, this old staff is mostly gone. There are a lot of new people involved these days and people like me are just floating around doing nothing (aka being on the forum).

To be honest I think after the ladder bans of NPL , a good amount of players of SvW , rpg etc will move towards CS lobby and its a good time to train them.

This idea that training people actually helps is backwards. There's no reason for everyone to be an expert at cba or w/e.

Let them play rpgs/udp etc. and have casual fun. Its the same reason I keep saying rating fun maps is a bad idea, if you add rates you add a reason to be a **** in fun maps.

Exactly, the problem are the people who are sitting at the top of the food chain in voobly staff hierarchy who are not willing to give up some of their power and pass it to motivated people with time, good ideas and who are actually playing the game.

Ideawise Ive pointed out mine often enough, most core CSers think theyre a good idea (eg bringing CS-Clans back with a random pack consisting 3-4 maps, not more) but nothing is done about it.

Didn't we do that? I thought we had. If not that, we did something similar during Justin's time.

Specifically on your idea... well the lack of ability to stop a clan whoring points makes it seem pointless. Two good players could smurf for any random clan, get them to 2k and then the whole clan will have a high rate.

whether smurf or not, it would generate competitive, interesting games and promote activity.

The problem is that as far as I know mods still cant reset matches played in the CS-Clans ladder and whoever is responsible for fixing it has not done it over the past years even though its probably really simple. About the maps I would say CBA, CBA Hero, Smosh, Lustful. Its something for everyone in there.

The thing is, why do we have Clans in voobly if clans cant compete against eachother other than in tournaments designed for clans (TiW is the only one for CS)
