Setting up the router

The Set Up Below Is For No Nat Games, By IP Or Lan Etc When All The Game Ports Are Needed.
For Voobly you only need to forward 16000udp to the private ip of your pc

Enter your gateway ip, what ever it is, in an internet explorer address bar to access the router.: "[You must login to view link]"
Enter the pass word and log in name .:[You must login to view link]

It may be just admin/admin. your router makers web site will tell you. or if you have a modem-come-router, it may be the log in you need to access your isp.

You should see the home or set up page or status page
Go to the advanced or port forward or virtual server or gaming and applications tab or link, depending on your router.
It may be divided in to two sections, single and ranged port forwarding or all in one.
Set up the ports as shown below. 2300 to 2400 udp/tcp. 47624 tcp. 6073udp/tcp [Age of Kings]
Voobly 16000udp.
The ports are directed at the private ip of the playing pc. [in this case 192.168.1.115]

Some routers may have pre-made game settings listed which you can use.
Do not forget to apply/save on every router page you alter.

DHCP

The dhcp server on the router, distributes private ip's to any connected device. To make sure you get the same ip every time you log on, you can use "ip reservation" or you will need to "fix" the ip unless your pc is the only attached device.

The router ip [192.168.1.1] and the pc ip [192.168.1.115] need to be out side the range of ip's the DHCP can allocate. Simply alter the start ip [shown in screen shot] to exclude them.

Set Up A Fixed Private Ip.

Router Firewalls

Look under security or fire wall or access control. if you see any of these turn them off: "block anonymous requests" " stateful packet inspection".
if you see " wan to lan" access it and enable it.
Lastly, turn off upnp and on all security applications and fire walls, allow the game/Voobly through.

Vista Ultimate/ Premium/ Win7 And W8 have two firewalls

Always remember to apply, save, save all, if your router has it under management/tools and reboot the router

This is a good free soft ware fire wall to add to your security
