This is needed so that the router sends the information from the forwarded ports to the right pc. Yours.
If you have a pc connected directly to a proper modem, NONE of this applies to you

To play at voobly

To play at Voobly
you only need to forward port 16000 UDP to the fixed private ip of the playing pc.

THE GAME/VOOBLY NEEDS TO BE ALLOWED THROUGH ANY PC SECURITY, FIRE WALL APPLICATIONS AND ANTI-VIRUS APPLICATIONS YOU HAVE.

Setting up a private ip
Read below for more written detail

DHCP

The dhcp server on the router, distributes private ip's to any connected device. To make sure you get the same ip every time you log on, you can use "IP Reservation". If you can do that, then none of the set up described needs to be done.
You will need to "fix" or reserve the ip unless your pc is the only attached device.

The router ip [192.168.1.1] and the pc ip [192.168.1.115] need to be out side the range of ip's the DHCP can allocate. Simply alter the start ip [shown in screen shot] to exclude them.

Step 1

Find the default gateway and PC private ip

Step 2

Using the information

for XP

Go to start>> settings>> network connections>>open properties on your "local area connection". The connection that you are using on that pc.

For Vista

Click Start>>Control Panel>>Select Network and Internet >> Network and Sharing Center >> Manage network connections>>Right click your local area connection>>open Properties.

For Windows 7 and 8

Go to start>>control panel>>click "view network status and tasks">>click "change adapter settings">>>Right click your local area connection>>open Properties

The "local area connection" you choose depends if you are using wireless or a hard wire connection on your pc

For all versions, high light "internet protocol version4 [tcp/ipv4">> click properties

Tick " use the following ip address" and "use the following dns server addresses"

Now enter the information shown from the black command window "ipconfig/all" in the relevant boxes.

To play at Voobly

you only need to forward port 16000udp to the fixed private ip of the playing pc and allow Voobly and the game through any PC firewall and anti-virus app.

Remember

After any alteration of a router page , Apply, save and finally Reboot the router.

Also on the router

If you are going to forward the ports and NOT use UPNP, turn it OFF on the router.
If you use UPnP, DO NOT SET ANY GAME PORTS
For Nat games, games at voobly, it should not be necessary to alter the router firewall.
For games not using the Nat feature, by lan/ ip/ off of Voobly you will have to alter the router firewall settings and probably the pc as well

If your router has a "STATE-FULL PACKET INSPECTION" firewall, untick it or configure it. Apply/save
If your router has "BLOCK ANONYMOUS REQUESTS", untick it. Apply/save
On all security applications, ON THE PC, allow the game and VOOBLY to pass through.
