There have never been good videos and commentaries. Bens short guides barely helped.
But the trap is to get too optimistic. Only make good quality documentaries about maps that will be used in tournaments.
About playing style getting cheap. This may be little bit true, but most maps have power ups anyway. And soon there will be the option to make a siege workshop in Gwarz
the whole point of me doing it is that there have NOT been good videos/tutorials and guides in voobly, I'm sorry but the only half decent one I've came accross in John's cba one, bens 1v1 smosh is good for teaching you how to get to middle ... briefly but that's it, I'm talking an advanced one, I used to make long winded guides with all of my tactics, techniques and tricks which people missed out on, stuff vicious will NOT and I repeat NOT know about, like different kind of patrols, not just where to patrol to..... I used to do it alot in gsa as I said and it seemed to work wonders, even in igz and just by watching my recs ppl learnt rcb, because the stuff i do is so distinct and different from others, so imo for the maps im good in, it would benefit lots of cs.
- The CS community has degraded, I agree with you on that entirely, this is also the reason to do it.................... not a reason not to, let me give you my idea of it, let's go for something different, like poor african countries, (no racism/discrimination or hurtful comments intended) there are starving people living in harsh, poor conditions, you're saying the country is degraded / not up to date with the modern world, do we forget about them, as you would do in the AoC CS case or do we try try and try again to give them food, shelter etc.. ? we do try, year after year.. so I will not give up on CS, I changed some players in gamespy from rooks to aoc pros / some good all arounders that still play in voobly today by this method..... so hey, lots of voobly players are even more dedicated so.. worth a go..
I will be making my full extensive RCB 2011 guide tonight with Pedro (chopin), the video will also be done and posted. Then I plan on doing drow, maybe dodgeball (there is much more tactic to it then you think, certain ways to walk/ not walk, where your enemy is depends on how likely he is to be hit, hills , how to use etc... dodge is a simple map, but hey, i bet 3/4 of cs do not hotkey their store, know about hill advantage / dis advantage when walking up, how to avoid strays and why sometimes the archer takes longer to shoot... ) so yeah, then some other bloods / cba.
Tom, be positive, afterall we've played this game a heck of a long while, me personally since 2004 and you probably longer so, instead of slagging off the community and letting it die off, why not try and help or at least support somebody who is trying to help.

There have been written guides on every played blood with recorded games of good players playing those maps. What does a video with Zanchy commentating do that those previous guides don't? Introduce a medium of tips for those too lazy to read? I guess so, but I wouldn't hold much stock in that kind of player in any case. It's not like there are hundreds or thousands of players willing to learn or get better at bloods either.

Like I said above, there have been good guides and recorded games on every blood played. Videos were never seen as needed because we knew how to read and watch the better players play and learn that way. You sound hilarious when you think you know more about this game than the best players of ViCiouS did. Your ego knows no bounds, it seems.

People are dying in third world countries, not in AoC CS. Your analogy makes no sense at all. If you think it's worth it to try teach a few dozen players task orders in various maps, then be my guest; as I said that can be your personal hobby and you may enjoy it, but it's not going to make this game like it was nor will it improve beyond its current status.

Yeah, every map has a task order and little subtleties, and we've covered the played ones in the past. If a map doesn't have a guide, then I'd agree it's a good idea to make one for it. Making videos and new guides for maps that have already been explained to death however is not going to help.

Because the community isn't what it was, and the majority of players playing now aren't worth defending or helping, as seen by Masta and Marvel's ignorance. I have made guides, new maps, hosted tournaments, provided downloads, and all sort of things to help and improve this community - my efforts were wasted, and yours will be too. Don't think I want you to fail... only that I know you will.
