Hi there, Zanchy here, for those of you who may not know me I'm an AoC CS player,
quite well known, play pretty much every map and I was wondering ...
Is it worth me making some short, high quality, informative videos for CS maps?
My idea is to make short clips, ie. only 30 seconds by which I can explain how to play the map
at hand, any tricks you need to know about the map and show people (CS) hands on how I
play AoC. (So I will record the screen so you can see my view, screen clicks Etc.)
=> These can all be made into a video for that map, for example:
Gwarz Blood:
I can make 2~3 short clips on tricks/tactics for the map, such as hot keying heroes,
hit/run/dodge skills with your Subotai, do's and don't s .. and then have a clip after each demonstrating
that exact trick. This can be made into a video and would only be about 4 minutes... really not long at all.
I am also willing to write out guides for maps in which people can actually follow, not too long, not too boring and I can make guides so we start as noob level and finish at top level 1v1, how far players go is entirely up to them.
So, I am certainly willing to do this kind of thing for maps I know very very well, below is a full list of maps I feel confident enough to do this for, please give your feedback: (Maps in bold are the most played ones, in which I'm referring to really.)
Bloods: Archers Blood , Cav Blood, Core Blood, Daze Blood, Drow Blood, Dessert Blood, Dome Blood, Fury Blood, Germs Blood, Flame of Eturnity , Gwarz Blood, Hunter Blood, KM, Legend of Blood,
Nova Blood, Path v3/Hereos Blood, Phat Blood, Rad Blood, Smosh , Spider Blood, Teh Blood,
Teutonic Blood, Vets BvsG / v4 Blood, Waterfest
CBA: I can go through everything you need in TG in general, skills, patrolling retreating Etc.. (As John / eT did in his great CBA guide if you like)
- But my idea really, if I make a video/tutorial/guide on CBA would be for 1v1 same civs, I am particularly well trained in Archer civs, I will list the most popular civs and I can really do any of them, the ones in bold are my personal best in which you would likely benefit most from:
Celts, Japs, Mayans, Mongols, Saracens, Brits.
=> Also remember, these patrols are the basis on this type of unit, I will likely offer to do a video on purely patrolling to help CS, anybody who wants to see it, but please DON'T LEAVE BACK NEGATIVE FEEDBACK ABOUT EGO, I will explain why I am doing this in a bit, it's nothing to do with ego.
ok so tell me what you think, why am I offering to do this?
Because I have played AoC for a long while, I love it and I want to give back to the community, I enjoy teaching things and I hope to get a positive feedback so I can try this and see if it benefits anybody.
'However, did you figure out yet how to record it? Also, if you need some further assistence just ask me eh? '
- yeah thanks penedro I did, I can do it so the screen is really clear too and upload it to voobly/youtube,
the only downfall would be there's no sound, but of course I can add in my beautiful voice!
do the most played maps like cba,smosh,rcbgold.....
a lot of softwares out there can record both the screen and the sound.....like fraps...but you might wanna reencode the output video file to compress it
Zanchy that sounds like a lot of work for one person... you should try to get a team of people together to make comprehensive guides for select scenarios.
