Every round would maybe consist of ? games and it's triple elimination with each player being each civ three times... and maybe the same orientation of the civs as well (e.g. p1 japs, p2 byz). I guess certain civs would have to be excluded to make the tournament doable since you could only have 8 without it getting uber complicated.

If you use 1v1 as qualifiers it'd exclude a lot of people like myself (well I'm not sure about this...maybe not A LOT of people) that don't play 1v1. A better way to do it would be via win ratio of RCB ffa.
It's not impossible to do it. Even based on the current system I'm sure you could think of a balanced combination of civs. If people are serious about a tourney I'd certainly help come up with something. Anywho, I g2g to work then class.
it could be ffa matches with 4 ppl each round if theres not enough entered, or 8 players 1st round then the final round with however many winners there are from round 1.
Even if 8 people were in the tournament it'd be perfect.
-to buy cheaper things sooner to build up defence and keep the target away from you
-hide the fact that u have lots of kings, are about to buy something, do buy something, or have bought something
-wait till someone else gets something threatening 1st, then when everyones distracted u buy something
-buy something people dont realize is threatening by using it a certain strategic way
No that can't happen. lol. It just makes too much sense. (sarcasm)
1) Aztecs
2) Mayans
3) Saracens
4) Chinese
5) Celts
6) Mongols
7) Japs
With 8 people: each person a color 2x and after 2 rounds of this (16 games) players with the top four wins go to the next round. Or sth similar. Depends on how many people sign up.
No matter what I'm guessing either tourney won't be official. Hell I don't even know if the interest is there to do a RCB Gold ffa tourney.
What do you think of those civ arrangements though?
I know above I said Chinese suck but lately I've been dominating with them by going the villager/imperial route.
that's why it's rarely played now, even the new 'good players' are noobs.. lol.
id like to see an ffa tourny like we take streams of say players, whoever signs up and do same civs, ffas,
a few rounds and whoever wins most, by pts, wins!
