Can't play AoE2 with voobly, black screen

Hey all,

Yesterday I bought Age of Empires II HD to play on my laptop, because my original CD died a couple of weeks ago. I installed the game step by step using this thread by voobly support.

The problem with voobly is that I get a black screen when a game starts, so I can't play. I have reinstalled the game multiple times, restarted voobly multiple times and I have restarted my laptop multiple times, with no succes. The game works normally without voobly.

I hope someone can help me!

Hi Oceanos,
Render in 32 bit color: http://support.voobly.com/display/vkb/KB1059+Render+in+32-bit+color
(launch the game with this option selected)

Does the game work offline/ on steam?

Hello Drushy,

When I render the game in 32 bit color, it works, but only in a small screen, not in full screen. But I am happy enough that it actually works. :)

Is there anything to do, so I can play full screen?

Start the game - Once in-game, Press F10 -> [ Options ] -> Select the resolution of your Monitor. (The highest possible in the list)
Have fun :)

Right click on desktop ->

Use the settings accordingly;
note: "Bildskärm" is display.

See if that works ;)
